Breathtaking views and untouched nature: Visiting National park Plitvice lakes

Welcome to the amazing Croatian National park Plitvice lakes, located in the inland part of Croatia yet still close to the famous coastal cities and tourist hotspots.

It is truly a unique visit and travel spot and it will satisfy any nature lover as well as any other visitor with its beauty and untouched nature! It is an experience you should not miss while you are in Croatia.

National park Plitvice is the oldest and the biggest national park in Croatia, and it is the oldest one in Southeast Europe. It is a memorable location for any tourist, as the park is a magnificent combinationof beautiful pathways, untouched nature, stunning waterfallsand much much more!

The park always attracted nature lovers, even from its beginnings in the 1940s. Beautiful travertine barriers give unique value and their beauty was recognized in 1979 by UNESCO when the park was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list.

This is one of the first sights to be added on the glamourouslist, so take a minute to enjoy that fact.

Plitvice National park spreads over 73 000 acres and there are many walking and hiking paths throughout the visitors' area as well as viewpoints with breathtaking views.

There are many routes you can take whileexploring the park and every visit will feel like the first time.

The park consists ofsmall lakes and hundreds of waterfalls, so a basic visit usually consists of three parts: a visit to the lower lakes and the Big Waterfall (CroatianVeliki slap), next is a walk to the upper lakes which have many trails and waterfalls and the third part is the amazing Proscansko lake.

There are many other combinationsyou can take, so be sure to take a map when you arrive and follow the signs so you don't get lost.

The water in the lakes is very clear and you can see the fish swimming inside. It's veryinteresting to children!

As you are walking down the different walking paths, you will notice many different colors that spread in nature, so much more than green forests!

The Mediterranean flora in the park is very colorfuland you can seemore than 1000 species of different plants in the Plitvice lakes National park.

Wildlife is also diverse so you might meet a friendly bear, but we don't advise that!

Did you know that more than1.2 million people visit the park every year and check out its257 km long walking trails and clean air? The longest path can take up to 8 hours, and the shortest one around 2-3 hours, so get ready for some healthy exercise during your vacation!

Remember that one day is not enough to see the entire park, so be sure to plan a multi-day visit if you want to see all of the sights in the park.

Dress appropriately for the woods and hiking, so no to flip-flops and similar summer wear if the weather forecastdoesn't agree with that!

Don't forget that you can findcheaper tickets after 16:00.

Plitvice lakes National park is the social media influencer's paradise; take amazing photos to share with your friends, family, and followersand tell them about your amazing vacation in Croatia! Maybe a video in a rowboat? The summer season is the best, but you can visit any time!
