Going and planning a summer vacation is always exciting, especially when you have all the necessary information in advance. To avoid hours of searching the web and outdated information, we present a complete plan to get to luxury accommodation in one of our villas on Brač.
Arrival in Split
If you are traveling by plane, your first step will be to arrive at Split Airport (Jeronim Airport), which is located in Kaštel Štafilić, about 25 km from the city center. The ferry port in Split is located in the very center of the city, right next to the beautiful long waterfront.
After landing, you have several options to get to the ferry port in Split:
Bus: The Pleso company's direct bus line runs regularly from the airport to the ferry port, and the one-way fare is €10. The journey by bus takes about 30 minutes.
Taxi or private transfer: This is the fastest and most comfortable option, especially if you have a lot of luggage. The drive takes about 30 minutes, depending on traffic.
Split port ferry
Ferries from Split to Brač sail throughout the year, and the main carrier is the Croatian shipping company Jadrolinija. You can buy tickets at sales points in the ferry port or online via the official website. We definitely recommend the latter to avoid the summer crowds.
The main ferry line runs to the port of Supetar on the island of Brač, and the journey takes about 50 minutes. Besides Supetar, which is the island's main port of entry for most visitors, Bol and Sumartin are also connected by shipping lines. Bol is a popular summer destination, and you can reach it by catamaran directly from Split. Sumartin is a small island on the east coast of the island, which is connected by ferry to Makarska.
If you want to avoid crowds and enjoy privacy, you can consider hiring a taxi boat that will take you directly to your destination on the island. The price varies depending on the location, type of ship, and number of passengers.
Local transport on the island
When you arrive onBrač, you have several options for exploring the island:
Rent-a-car is the best option for those who want the freedom to explore, and this service is available in larger cities such as Supetar, Bol, Milna, Postira, Sutivan, Selca, and others.
A local Arriva bus line is also available on the island, and you can buy tickets online no later than 15 minutes before departure. This is a good option for those who come to the island without a car and do not plan to rent a car.
For adventurers, renting a bike, scooter or scooter can be a fun way to get to know nearby attractions.
