Croatian southern region called Dalmatia is known for its amazing vacation experience for tourists with its untouched nature, lots of cultural and historical heritage sights as well as amazing food

Tourists visiting Croatia with their pets, mainly dogs, are often interested in finding beaches where they favourite furry part of the family can take a swim too!

Some beaches are not marked as dog-friendly beaches and yet they allow animals, so be sure to ask around before your doggy takes a dip! Also keep in mind the rules of the beaches as you go!

1. KAŠJUNI AND KAŠTALET BEACHES IN SPLIT

First beach on our list is the Kašjuni beach located in the western part of the Split city. It was completely renovated in 2016. and there are lots of sun and sun loungers as well as a beach bar that converts to a nightclub in the night.

It is very clean today and access to the sea is comfortable. It is popular among the local population as well as tourists, and small pebbles in the water make it easier for children to enjoy it too, so the beach is perfect for families with children and with dogs too!

Kasjuni beach in SplitAnother beach in the Split area is called Kaštalet and it is located around 15 minutes from the city. Its name comes from the older local population. This beach is more private and there are not many amenities, but it is perfect if you just want to enjoy the sea and get a tan.


2. KOSIRINA IN BETINA ON THE ISLAND OF MURTER

The Kosirina beach is located near the small town of Jezera and Betina on the famous Murter island in Croatia. You will see it as your driving on the main Murter road, the sight is amazing! You can even see Kornati national park in the distance.

It is one of the most beautiful beaches in Croatia with its amazing view of the small island of Tužbina as well as Kornati national park itself.

There are many amenities on this beach, not just restaurants with local delicates and beach bars, but also a sailing school, table tennis, riding, diving and much more!


3. STARA ŠKOLA IN VODICE

Stara škola beach is an official dog-friendly beach located in the Vodice city centre famous with clear clean sea and small pebbles on the bottom that attracts families with children and pets.

Its superb location gives you a unique option of touring the famous tourist hotspot and enjoy a day at the bash without having to take a drive! 

There are also many restaurants, bars and monuments you can check out in the city and you won't have to walk too much. There is not much shade on Stara škola beach, so take note on that!


4. ZLATNI RAT ON BRAČ ISLAND

Zlatni rat beach located in the Bol town on the island of Brač is one of the most famous beaches in Croatia.

Relaxing on this beautiful clean beach is a great experience, with untouched nature and lots of shade.

5. VELA LUKA ON THE ISLAND OF KRK

Vela Luka beach is another stunning beach which consists of a combination of sand and small stones. You cannot arrive by car and a you have to take a walk through the woods to come to the beach. But don't worry, its well worth it!

The beach is located on a cove 1.8 kilometres long and 400 meters wide

Along with its size, the beach impresses with its beauty because of its sandy sea bottom and a natural source of drinkable water on its end. 

You can find a restaurant on the beach where you can enjoy a tasty meal as well as take a sun lounger and get a tan or call a taxi boat to take you back to the towns.

We recommend a visit to this beach as a day trip because of a rather long walk through the Dalmatian nature. If you feel like cheating, take a taxi boat from Baška or Vela Luka cities.

Other memorable mentions include the beach Vartalac on the island of Vis in the city of Komiža, Šimuni on the island of Pag, Cvitačka in Makarska city, there are pet-friendly beaches on Rab island, Istria...

There is also an amazing a bit less visited dog-friendly beach in a small town of Bilice near the city of Šibenik too, so keep that in mind during your visit to this region.

Whether you’re on a beach marked for dogs or not, you have to keep in mind that each beach has its own rules that vary from beach to beach, so ask around before your visit.
